Fonte: http://www.eurodroid...rope-this-june/Here's some good news if you're in one of the many European DEAD ZONES where Google has yet to launch official access to the Android Market - Vodafone is launching its own app-selling shop front to sell Android apps to its customers. The Vodafone "Android App Shop" is slated to arrive in The Netherlands, Germany, Greece, Italy, Ireland, Portugal, Spain and the UK this June, and will be part of Vodafone's 360 package on some new Android phones. Here's a bit more info from a Vodafone presentation:It's believed Vodafone and German company Arvato, which will be managing the store, are already tapping up Android Market developers with a view to having them publish their apps on this new and entirely separate way to purchase Android apps.Link via numerous places - we found the story on MobileEntertainment, followed it to MobileGamesBlog, then nicked the image from AndroidPlanet. Apologies and thanks to everyone involved. We couldn't do it without you. It's a team effort, etc etc.

Para mim tem uma coisa boa a iniciativa da Vodafone, coloca pressão na Google para resolver o problema do Market pago em mais países. Pelo menos espero que sirva para isso.Bem, mal não faz acho! A ver vamos...

Fonte: http://www.intomobil...le (IntoMobile)Vodafone (like other carriers) refuses to be turned into a dumb pipe. They want to control the user experience and make additional money out of it. On that note, we bring you this story which involves the Big Red and their plans to launch a special version of the Android Market called “Android App Shop.”The carrier reportedly plans to introduce the new store as part of its Vodafone (NYSE: VOD) 360 experience and launch it in select European markets where it operates. Initially, the Android App Shop should be available in the UK, The Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Portugal, and Spain; and I assume the plan is to keep expanding afterwards.Germany’s Arvato mobile will be responsible for managing the store, and at the moment they are inviting developers to submit their non-adult apps.Vodafone wants the same 30% cut Google (NSDQ: GOOG) and Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) are taking. It will allow users to be charged through their phone bills…

Fonte: http://androinica.co...droid-app-shop/You know what Android needs? Yet another app store for distributing Android apps. As if the official Android Market, AndAppStore, SlideMe, Storeoid, Mykandi, Handmark, et al, weren’t enough, Vodafone is reportedly making its own distribution method for Android apps.Vodafone’s “Android App Shop” will launch in eight European markets: Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, and the United Kingdom. According to developer BlueMedialab, the market will be part of Vodafone’s 360 experience where users depend only on the carrier to obtain content.
What will set this new market apart from the Android Market? Not much. The App Shop will have the same revenue split as the Market (70-30 in the developer’s favor), will ban adult apps, and is contacting the same developers who have popular apps in the Android Market.
There will be two features of the App Shop that the Market should have adopted months ago: market-based prices and carrier billing. The Vodafone App Shop will allow developers to set prices based on the market of customers rather than where they live. They will give devs more options for setting affordable prices based on location. App purchasing will also be aided by removing Google Checkout in favor of being billed directly by Vodafone. This will probably speed up access to paid apps for Vodafone customers in countries yet to receive that option.
