We usually think of work on custom ROM replacements like CyanogenMod 7 as taking place well outside the world of official manufacturer-blessed activities. The ones that haven't been openly hostile towards the practice (though some are getting better, like Sony Ericsson and soon Motorola) just seem to steer clear of that scene altogether. Samsung, though, may be looking to establish itself as a mod-friendly company, since it's apparently provided a CyanogenMod developer a Galaxy S II of his own to use towards creating a CM7 build for the smartphone. CyanogenMod developer atinm received the smartphone from Samsung earlier today, with the understanding that he use it towards the goal of crafting an official CM7 release for the platform. It might have been a lot easier for him, and would make a bolder statement about the company's commitment towards projects like these, had Samsung also hooked him up with unreleased documentation on the phone. He recently followed-up his initial tweet commenting on this issue, noting that he believes from his contacts with the company that it might like to help him out more along this line, but it may be bound itself by agreements it's made with other companies regarding their trade secrets. We don't know when atinm might be able to release some usable code for the SGS2, but while we're excited about that possibility, the thing we're really happy about is seeing a smartphone manufacturer embrace a hacking community like this. Grande atitude por parte da samsung, espectacular mesmo, e pouco tempo após se saber que grande parte dos devs tinha comprado os LG's Optimus 2x! estão sempre em cima do assunto estes "marmelos", e já agora se alguém conhecer alguém da samsung e que queiram mais pessoas a quem oferecer um maquinão destes para "desenvolver e testar" digam-lhe que aqui o menino tem montes de absolutamente de jeito para isso tudo ;)De novo, parabéns à samsung pela atitude, pela abertura e acima de tudo pela rapidez de pensamento!Cumps

Só têm a ganhar.A HTC trancou os últimos smartphones todos e agora perceberem que não ganharam nada com isso.- Perderam Clientes- Gastaram tempo e dinheiro a criar os sistemas de bloqueio- Atrasaram o lançamento dos equipamentos- Custo de produção mais caro- e no final, conseguiram sempre contornar a segurança

A Samsung está a ter a atitude correcta, o Luis da Samsung anda aqui pelo fórum e vai ficar radiante com o que andamos a dizer, mas é bem verdade, Samsung FTW.

É uma actitude de louvar , a SamsungPT podia fazer uma coisa do género para que o pessoal pode-se dar um suporte ainda maior aos terminais e podesse-mos testar as novas ROM's oficias deles.

Depois de ter visto esta atitude por parte da Samsung fiquei ainda com mais vontade de adquirir esta grande máquina. A Samsung está a conquistar o mercado a pouco e pouco e é com atitudes destas que o vai conseguir.Até agora sem dúvida de todos os equipamentos que já tive o Galaxy S foi o que mais me surpreendeu.
